Sixth Season


Steve Leahy is in his sixth season on the Davidson football staff and second as the Director of Player Development. He will continue to assist coaching the tight ends, and will also assist with academics and community service.
 
A native of upstate New York, Leahy was the head football coach at Unatego Central School for 33 years. During that time, he accumulated 157 victories, nine Coach of the Year awards and several championships.
 
He also coached basketball and track at Unatego and was inducted into the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Section IV Hall of Fame in February of 2005.
 
Leahy earned a bachelor's degree from Oneonta State in 1969 and did graduate work at Oneonta State and Cortland State. He was elected the Morris, N.Y., Town and Village Judge, was re-elected four times and served 20 years until his retirement.
 
Steve and his wife, Lorraine, followed both of their grown children (Jeff and Lindsay) to the Lake Norman area and live in Mooresville, where Steve is a buyer's agent with a successful real estate team.
