
'Cats Advance To A-10 Semifinals With 13-6 Win Over Saint Joseph's

DAVIDSON, N.C. - After a 13-6 win over five-seeded Saint Joseph's, the Davidson women's lacrosse team punched its ticket to the A-10 Semifinals for the fourth time over the last five seasons. The Wildcats will face the top-seeded Richmond Spiders on Friday, May 1 at 12 p.m. on Field 76.
Davidson jumped out to a 3-0 advantage early in the first quarter with goals from Allie Hartnett, Jenna Skibbe, and Keira Best. Saint Joseph's responded with three unanswered goals to close out the first frame. Emma Yoder's goal capped off the run with 11 seconds remaining.
The Wildcats outscored the Hawks 4-2 in the second quarter and led 7-5 at halftime. Jenna Skibbe, Brooke Ross, and Jacqueline Callahan all scored goals in the second frame.
Davidson's defense shut down Saint Joseph's in the second half. The Wildcats held the Hawks to only one goal. Aeryn Curren and Tema Wagner each recorded two caused turnovers in the game.
The 'Cats outscored the Hawks 6-1 in the second half.
