
Davidson Defeats Coastal Carolina 6-5, 'Cats Improve To 4-0

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Behind three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter, the Davidson women's lacrosse team pushed past Coastal Carolina 6-5 on Field 76 on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats are 4-0 for the first time since the 2022 season.
Allie Harnett scored the first goal of the game within the first two minutes of the opening quarter. Coastal Carolina scored two goals in the final three minutes of the first quarter and led 2-1.
Carleigh Patterson gave the Chanticleers a 3-1 advantage with 10:33 left in the second quarter. The Wildcats responded with a goal from Jacqueline Callahan, which was assisted by Kaitlyn Uller. At this point, Davidson trailed 3-2 with 7:14 left until halftime. Allie Harnett capitalized on a free position and scored her second goal of the contest with 52 seconds left in the second quarter.
Coastal Carolina and Davidson were tied, 3-3, at intermission on Field 76.
Sophie Kingsborough scored back-to-back goals for Coastal Carolina in the second half and the Chanticleers led 5-3 with 8:25 left in the fourth quarter.
Davidson closed out regulation with three straight goals. Brooke Ross, Jenna Skibbe, and Kaitlyn Uller all scored in the fourth quarter. Uller's goal with 2:16 left in regulation proved to be the difference.
The Wildcats outshot the Chanticleers 32-12 in the game. Davidson recorded 18 ground balls. Coastal Carolina had 13 ground balls.
Allie Harnett and Mary Claire Hendrick each had three caused turnovers for the Wildcats.
