'Cats to Host Duke in Cannon Pool

The Davidson swimming and diving teams will host the Duke Blue Devils in the season's home opener Friday evening in Cannon Pool.
Events will get underway at 5 p.m., and it's the first of three home meets for the Wildcats this season.
"We're excited to welcome a great team from the ACC and build off of what we did last weekend," said Davidson coach John Young.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson's swimmers opened the 2026-27 season last Saturday at Queens, while Friday will be the divers' first competition.
• At Queens, sophomore Henry Shoemaker, last year's Atlantic 10 champion in the 1,650 freestyle, led the Wildcats as a two-event winner.
• Shoemaker won the 500 free in 4:34.78 and the 1,000 free in 9:34.80.
• The Davidson women had two event winners: Caroline Furbay won the 100 free (52.55), and Ginny Thorsen won the 200 free (1:54.86).
ALSO IN CANNON...
• Also at home this semester, the Wildcats will host Catawba and UNC Asheville on Friday, Oct. 30.
• Davidson's third home meet is set for Friday, Feb. 5 against Gardner-Webb.
