Wildcats Open Swim/Dive Season Saturday

Saturday is Opening Day for the Davidson swimming and diving teams, which will host Queens in Cannon Pool, beginning at 11 a.m.

Additionally, the Wildcats will host women divers from UNC Asheville.

It's the beginning of a five-month competitive season that will peak with championships in February and March.

NEWSMAKERS
• Swimmer Dylan Felt returns for his senior season as the owner of 12 Atlantic 10 medals (7 golds), two A-10 Most Outstanding Performer awards (2023, 2024) and three league records.
• An accomplished freestyler, Felt has won three straight A-10 titles in the 500 free and 1,650 free and last year added a 200 free championship as well.
• He owns A-10 records in the 200 (1:32.96), 500 (4:16.58) and 1,650 (14:55.89) and participated in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.
• Felt was also part of last season's A-10 silver-medal 800 free relay team that set a school record (6:25.40) and returns intact with Mitch McClain, Matthew Shnowske and Fletcher Smith.
• Felt and Liam McDonough were part of the 400 medley relay that set a school mark last season (3:13.27).
• Swimmer Ginny Thorsen and diver Elle Jacobsen return after earning A-10 bronze medals a year ago.
• Thorsen swam to third in the 200 free (1:49.90), while Jacobsen was third in 1-meter diving (271.60) and later competed at the NCAA Zones.

SCHEDULE NOTES
• Saturday's meet is the first of three home dates for the Wildcats.
• Davidson will host Old Dominion on Saturday, Nov. 1 and William & Mary on Saturday, Jan. 17.
• The first half of the season features the three-day Bucknell Invitational (Nov. 21-23).
• The 2026 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships are set for Feb. 18-21 at the Hampton (Va.) Aquaplex, which has hosted the previous two league meets. Â
