DURHAM, N.C. – Davidson continued its preparations for next month's Atlantic 10 Track & Field Championships at this weekend's Duke Invitational hosted by the Blue Devils.
The annual three-day event started Thursday and concluded Saturday evening inside Morris Williams Stadium.
Freshman Abby Smith put together a strong showing in the women's 5K Friday evening with a personal-best 17:20.07.
Amelia Monohan also turned in a personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:15.59.
The first-year duo of Ashley Rangel and Stefania Williams continued their impressive campaigns.
Rangel an all-rookie performer during the indoor season, finished 11th out of 39 in the shot put with a distance of 12.81m. Williams, the school-record holder in the long jump, turned in a 5.64m to place just inside the Top 10.

The Wildcats will travel to Winston-Salem next weekend for the Wake Forest Invitational.
