WASHINGTON -- Senior attacker Josie Lambert was named the Atlantic 10's Co-Offensive Player of the Week, alongside Saint Joseph's Maddie Yoder, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The Illinois native won the conference's weekly honor after recording a career-high and game-best eight goals and one assist in an 18-7 win over Rhode Island on Saturday.
Lambert's eight goals matched a 25-year-old program record for single-game goals scored, set by Davidson's Lauren Kenchington in April of 2000. Kenchington's record has now been matched three times, with Lambert's eight-goal day against the Rams and by Ann Fucigna (2013vs. Presbyterian) and Emma Sissman (2014 vs. Presbyterian).
Lambert and the Wildcats ramp up for a two-game week, starting with a Wednesday match up at George Mason before hosting Duquesne on Saturday, March 29.
