Davis and ‘Cats Begin Play in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Behind Will Davis' second-round 70, the Davidson men's golf team is sixth after day one of the Seahawk Intercollegiate hosted by UNCW.
After opening with a 73, Davis bounced back with his 13th round of par or better this season to climb into a tie for 13th.
Will Tharin (T-17) continued his steady play with a pair of 72s and is one back of his teammate.
Davidson's Joshua Stewart (73-72) is just inside the Top-25.
Davis Sayman was also key to the Wildcats' second-round 285 with an even-par 71.
Davidson (296-285 = 581 | +13) is 10 back off fifth-place Florida Atlantic, while the host Seahawks lead the 13-team field at 6-under.
Nashawn Tyson of Florida Atlantic holds the top spot on the individual leader board at 13-under.
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
