Faulkner and Miller off to Strong Starts at Sea Palms

SAINT SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Davidson's Nate Faulkner signed for an opening round two-under 69, to pace the Wildcats on day one of The Peoples Championship at Sea Palms Resort.
Faulkner, the 2025 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, finished the day with six birdies and four bogeys.
The Wildcats, who have won the event hosted by Western Carolina two of the last three years, also got a sub-par round from Price Miller (69 | -2), who is one of four Davidson players competing as an individual.
Both Faulkner and Miller will enter day two tied for 14th out of 123 competitors.
Jackson Bode and Benjamin Newfield (individual) also carded even-par rounds of 71. Davis Sayman (74) and Owen Jessop (76) also contributed to the team's total Thursday afternoon.
Davidson, which posted a six-over 290, is just eight shots out of sixth place, currently occupied by Charleston Southern (-2).
The Catamounts and Belmont share the top spot on the 22-team leaderboard at seven-under 277.
The three-day / 54-hole event will resume tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
