School and Personal Records Fall at JDL Early Bird Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Highlighted by a pair of school records from Ashley Rangel, the Davidson women's indoor track & field team continued their season-opening weekend with the JDL Early Bird Invite Sunday at the JDL Fast Track.
Rangel, who holds a total of three standards between indoor and outdoor, broke her own records in both the shot put and weight throw.
Behind a mark of 13.11m (43-00.25), the sophomore came home runner up in the shot put, while 14.26m (46-09.50) was good enough for sixth in the weight throw.
Fellow throwers and teammates Summer Laskey (Weight Throw – 14.17m) and Hannah Casey (Shot Put – 11.21m) also set personal records of their own.
In addition, Davidson also got Top-10 showings in their respective events from the following – Elle Collins (200m / 6th), Chris-Ann Nelson (200m / 7th), Leila Haley (400m / 7th), Ava Linnell (Mile / 9th), Stefania Williams (Long Jump / 8th), Bella Cantorna (Pole Vault / 6th) and Molly O'Brien (Pole Vault / 10th).

Davidson will continue its indoor slate at the end of January with events at JDL (Jan. 25) as well as Liberty University (Jan. 30-31).
