Wildcats Fall 3-1 to LaSalle

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's soccer team fell to the La Salle Explorers 3-1 at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats were forced to play a man down for the final 74 minutes after a red card early in the first half.
Alonzo Clarke was given a yellow card in the 9th minute for his first offense, but in the 16th minute, the junior defender/midfielder was given a second yellow after he made contact with a La Salle player inside the box. The Explorer's were given a penalty kick chance and converted. Davidson went down a goal and down a man.
Just three minutes later, La Salle was awarded yet another penalty kick after one of the Explorer's tripped inside Davidson's 18-yard box. The visitor's again converted the chance and took a two-goal lead.
Less than six minutes before the half, Noah Louzan made a run into La Salle's box and was toppled over to set up a PK for Davidson. Sophomore Ayman Maadir stepped up and put his shot inside the lower right corner, past the outreached hands of the goalie, for his first score of the season.
After halftime, La Salle added another goal, this time on a breakaway, to put the game out of reach at 3-1.

The Wildcats will be on the road next Saturday (Oct. 5) when the team heads to St. Bonaventure.
