DAVIDSON, N.C. – Rachel Bewick has been named Davidson's next assistant volleyball coach and recruiting coordinator, head coach Chris Willis announced Thursday.
Bewick joins the 'Cats after a successful playing career at nearby Lenoir-Rhyne University, where she was a four-year libero and two-year captain for the Bears.
"The future of Davidson Volleyball just got better with the addition of Rachel to our staff," Willis said. "She will have an immediate impact for us on the court with our first contact. I also see Rachel impacting our long-term success with her ability to create authentic relationships in recruiting. Her infectious personality will surely enhance the culture of our entire program."
A native of Greenville, N.C., Bewick began her coaching career as a graduate assistant coach with the Lehigh University volleyball program during the 2023 season. There, she served in a director of operations role while also assisting in recruiting and the on-court training of the Mountain Hawks.
"I would like to thank Coach Willis and Associate Director of Athletics Dick Cooke for giving me the opportunity to join the Davidson College volleyball program," Bewick said. "I am extremely grateful to be a part of an institution that is known for developing excellent scholar-athletes. Coach Willis has an outstanding reputation for creating a successful program in a culture that values community and personal growth. It is an honor to learn under his guidance."
As a player, Bewick earned AVCA Division II All-American Honorable Mention recognition in 2021, while also leading the Bears to the SAC Championship and NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen. Bewick also holds the Lenoir-Rhyne program record for most digs in a single match (42).
