DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's basketball team is adding University of Pittsburgh transfer guard Jasmine Timmerson as the final piece of its incoming class, head coach Gayle Fulks announced today.
"We are excited to complete our 2024-25 roster with the addition of sophomore transfer 'scholar-baller' Jasmine Timmerson," said Fulks. "She is a true point guard who has accumulated high-level experience in her freshman year at Pittsburgh. Jasmine has an elite ability to find the paint and should be a great complement to our team's shooting prowess. Her leadership and intangibles make her a terrific fit for our Davidson women's basketball program."
Timmerson arrives at Davidson after being one of just two Pitt freshmen to play in more than half of the team's 2023-24 games. Timmerson made 24 appearances and eight starts with the Panthers while averaging 15.4 minutes per game, the second most for a Panthers rookie a season ago. The Wexford, Pa., native scored a career-high eight points against Boston College and grabbed a personal-best five rebounds against Northern Kentucky.
Prior to her time at Pitt, Timmerson was a four-year starting point guard at North Allegheny High School. She helped lead her squad to a 94-14 overall record during her career while securing three WPIAL Championships and one state title. Timmerson finished her career with 1,274 career points, which ranked eighth in North Allegheny High School girls basketball history.
Timmerson continued her high school accolades by being named a two-time First Team All-State honoree, including during her senior campaign when she posted averages of 16.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals and led the squad to a 22-6 record.
Timmerson capped her final high school season by being named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab 5 and 6A Player of the Year. Additionally, Timmerson scored a Class 6A Championship record 30 points to propel the Tigers to the WPIAL title as a senior.
