SNOW HILL, N.C. – Sophomore Price Miller carded an even-par 72 to pace the Davidson men's golf team on day one of the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina.
The three-day / 54-hole event is being played on the 7,147-yard, Par 72 Cutter Creek Golf Club layout.
Tomorrow's second round will begin at 7:51 a.m. off the 1st and 10th holes.
Unlike most tournaments, each team has six competitors in their respective lineup with the top four scores counting towards the team total.
Coming off its seventh Top-5 finish in eight events, the Wildcats (296 | +8) are currently tied for seventh, just 12 shots off the lead held by the host Pirates (-4). ECU was the lone school on the 15-team leaderboard to break par.
Miller, who sits tied for 14th out of 100 competitors, finished the day with five birdies to sit just four shots off the pace. Will Davis is one back of his teammate after a 73, while Alex Heffner (75), Davis Sayman (76), Benjamin Newfield (77) and Joshua Stewart (78) are also in the Davidson lineup.
Adam Lauer, competing as an individual for the Wildcats, opened with an 82.
ECU's Philip Linberg Bondestad holds the top spot on the individual leaderboard at 4-under.
