
Singh Earns Preseason Honors, ‘Cats Slotted Fourth

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Davidson College men's tennis team is projected to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 this season the league office announced Thursday with the unveiling of its annual preseason poll.
Junior Udday Singh who looks to pick up where he left off two seasons ago in 2021-22 was named to this year's A-10 Preseason All-Conference team.
Singh, a native of Chandigarh, India was an ITA Scholar Athlete following the 2022-23 season and was a two-time league Rookie of the Week selection and an A-10 All-Conference Second Team selection as a freshman.
During the 2021-22 season, Singh held an 8-6 singles record capturing the most solo wins on the team in addition to going 2-0 in conference matches during his debut season. Additionally, Singh went 4-1 from the No. 2 position and collected a 6-6 overall record in doubles play with 10 appearances in the top spot.
Already this season, Singh has been impressive through six matches, claiming a 4-2 record in singles competition from the No. 1 spot while also having a 4-1 record in doubles play from the No. 2 position.
As a team, the Wildcats are off to a solid 4-2 start on the year and 1-0 mark in conference play with a 7-0 sweep over St. Bonaventure (Feb. 3). Additionally, the 'Cats have currently won three consecutive matches.
The 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championships will take place in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Campus from April 25-28.
