
Wildcats Set for Senior Day Versus George Washington Wednesday

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson women's basketball team rounds out the home portion of the regular season when it hosts George Washington on Senior Day 7 p.m. Wednesday.
*SENIOR DAY - Prior the Wednesday's contest, the Davidson women's basketball program will honor its four-member senior class of Suzi-Rose Deegan, Maddie Plank, Sallie Schutz and Elle Sutphin for their contributions to the program over their careers.

SERIES HISTORY...
Entering Wednesday's contest, the Wildcats hold a narrow 6-5 lead over the Revolutionaries in the all-time series. Davidson is currently on a three-game winning streak against George Washington with its most recent victory coming by way of 66-59 triumph on Feb. 22, 2023.
Four 'Cats ended the contest in double figures, led by Suzi-Rose Deegan with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Following was Elle Sutphin with 15 points, two blocks and a steal. Mallorie Haines chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds while Sallie Schutz tallied 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Wildcats ended a four-game winning streak when it fell 61-49 at Rhode Island Feb. 17. Katie Donovan led the 'Cats with a team-high 16 points to go with six rebounds Elle Sutphin (11) and Haines (10) joined the rookie in double figures. Additionally, Millie Prior brought in 11 boards with six points.
ROOKIE MOVES...
After answering the call to bump into the starting lineup against George Mason and Rhode Island, Queensland, Australia native Donovan showed up in a big way for the 'Cats, prompting her to garner her first the A-10 Rookie of the Week honors.
Donovan earned the conference honor after averaging 11.5 points per game across a 1-1 week for the 'Cats that saw them knock off George Mason 75-67 inside Belk Arena. Donovan torched the nets over two games, shooting 56.3 (9-of-16) from the floor and 80.0 percent from the foul line while making her lone 3-pointer. The rookie also dished out three assists while making one block and one steal. That week was highlighted by career-high's in scoring and rebounding against the Rams.
SUTPHIN STAYING SOLID...
The red-shirt senior from Pilot, Mountain continues to put up solid numbers for Davidson and against the Patriots and Rams alone averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game to go along with three assists and three steals. Sutphin shot .500 from the floor over the two most recent games as well. All told, Sutphin has tallied double-figures in five of the last six contests including a season-high 24 against the Patriots.
HAINES' HOT HAND...
Fellow North Carolina native, Haines found her stride in the Wildcats' two most recent games as well with a pair of good performances. Over that 1-1 week against George Mason and Rhode Island, the Junior went for 25 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals while shooting .563 from the floor and .545 from beyond the arc after sinking six triples over two contests. Haines continues to be strong in the league when shooting from deep as she currently sits second in 3-point percentage this season at .458.
CHECKING IN ON THE WIN COLUMN...
The Wildcats are having wildly successful season sitting at 18-9 with two regular season games to play. With the current record, Davidson currently has the fifth best record right behind the 19-11 year that the 2007-08 team ended with.
ONE FINAL HOME STAND
As a team, the Wildcats played solid on their home court this season. With an 11-4 record in games played inside John M. Belk Arena, Davidson has averaged 70.4 ppg while holding its competition to just 53.4. Additionally the 'Cats have shot .461 from the floor on the road and held their opponents to only a .363 shooting percentage.
Individually in home games, Sutphin leads the way offensively with 14.3 points per game and 4.6 rebounds while shooting .484 from the floor and 1.000 from the foul line. Following is Prior with 10.6 ppg, 8.2 rpg as well as 30 blocks and a .589 shooting percentage from the floor.

Overall, the Revs enter the mid-week match up averaging 58.9 points and 38.0 rebounds per game while shooting .373 percent from the floor, .309 from beyond the arc and .693 from the foul line. GWU dishes out 10.6 assists per game while forcing their competition into 15.4 turnovers per contest.
The offensive charge is led by the duo of Nya Robertson and Nya Lok with 15.7 ppg and 10.2 ppg respectively. On the defensive end of the court, Mayowa Taiwo paces the Revs with 7.4 rebounds per game and 1.6 steals per game.
