Multiple School Records Fall as Women Open Indoor Campaign

LYNCHBURG, Va. / BOSTON, Mass. / WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Four school records and a number of personal bests highlighted the opening weekend of competition for the Davidson women's indoor track and field team.
At the Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener hosted by Boston University, sophomore Jocelyn Millican set a Davidson standard in the 600 meters with a new program-best time of 1:34.21 to come home in fourth place.
Also running in the northeast Saturday, Molly Sullivan (9:57.45) and Abigail Nasse (17:11.32) shattered personal records in the 3K and 5K, respectively.
In Winston-Salem Sunday at the JDL Early Bird Invite, the Wildcats broke three more school records.
Freshman Mikayla Wills set a new standard in the 60m Hurdles, finishing second with a time of 8.68, while classmate Ashley Rangel (12.44m) broke a Davidson mark that stood for 15 years in the shot put.
In the weight throw, sophomore Summer Laskey recorded a distance of 13.44m to set a new school record of her own.
Rebecca Polgar also shined in her collegiate debut winning the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.94.

Davidson will enjoy almost two months away from competition before returning action Feb. 1 at the Gamecock Challenge hosted by the University of South Carolina.
