Lienafa Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON - For the second time this season, Davidson women's basketball forward Candice Lienafa has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The freshman native of Quebec, Canada scored 12 points to go along with six rebounds, a steal, block and assist in the Wildcats' 76-70 defeat of Duquesne Sunday to open A-10 competition. Lienafa connected on five of her eight shots of the afternoon in 20 minutes of action off the 'Cats bench.
So far this season, Lienafa has seen action in all 13 contests while making five starts. The rookie has tallied eight contests in double-figure scoring, including a season-high 18 points at Cincinnati, ranking her third on the roster in scoring with 10.3 ppg as well as first on the team in shooting efficiency at .609 percent from the floor and .450 from 3-point range. Lienafa also holds the league's second-best field goal percentage.
Davidson will look to extend its winning streak to four as well as stay undefeated in conference action when it welcomes La Salle to John M. Belk Arena 7 p.m. Jan. 2.
