DAVIDSON, N.C. — As the Davidson volleyball program continues to build upon its monumental success over the last four seasons, head coach Chris Willis announced the signings of five scholar-athletes to his 2025 roster on Wednesday.
"I'm confident that the class of 2029 will be an impact class that will continue to move our program forward," Willis shared. "Across the board, this group of women brings high volleyball IQ, athleticism and the ability to defend and score. I can't wait to get them in the gym with our returners."
Ylame Dsamou | Setter | Litchfield Park, Ariz. | Canyon View HS
Ylame Dsamou led her Canyon View High School squad as a team captain this past season, while also leading the region in assists and setting a school record for total assists. The setter out of Litchfield Park, Ariz,. is a two-time team MVP and a four-year First Team All-Region and All-Academic selection. The 2024 Region Player of the Year, Dsamou also helped her club team, AZ Sky, to three straight state championship titles.
Coach's Take: "Ylame caught our eye early on with her ability to lead a team and facilitate offense. We've been fortunate over the past few years to have several great setters, and Ylame will continue that tradition."
Ariyana Johnson | Outside Hitter/Opposite | Tyrone, Ga. | Sandy Creek HS
Ariyana Johnson is a dual-sport athlete at Sandy Creek High School, where she has captured a 2023 state championship in volleyball and a 2022 state title in track and field. The Georgia native is also a two-time All-State Honorable Mention honoree in volleyball, while earning Thrower of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year in track and field.
Coach's Take: "Ariyana has a high ceiling at both pins. She can score in different ways and brings a high level of athleticism that we need to compete in the A-10."
Ellie Ocampo | Outside Hitter | Houston, Texas | Phillips Exeter Academy
A three-year Bi-District champion and 2023 Most Valuable Player, Ellie Ocampo hails from Houston, Texas, and most recently served as team captain for the 2024 season at Phillips Exeter Academy. The outside hitter has had a successful high school career, winning 2021 Newcomer of the Year and 2022 First Team All-District honors.
Coach's Take: "Ellie is a 6-rotation outside hitter that will complement our returning pins. Not only is she an efficient attacker, she is also an aggressive defender that will build on our history of great defense."
Ngodoo Harris | Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker/Opposite | Greer, S.C. | Riverside HS
A decorated and dynamic attacker, Ngodoo Harris has earned All-State honors from South Carolina in 2023 and 2024, and she was named Player of the Year this fall at Riverside High School. The Greer native captained the team during her senior season and was also a 2023 regional champion.
Coach's Take: "Ngodoo flew under the radar for us. She was in our backyard, and we didn't find out about her until late in her junior year. Once we started to watch closer, we were blown away by her athleticism and game IQ. She's played every attacking position, and I'm looking forward to seeing her find a home to focus on."
Adlee Grissett | Libero/DS | Holly Springs, N.C. | Holly Springs HS
Adlee Grissett found her name on the AVCA's Phenom List and 2024 All-Region Team during her career at Holly Springs High School, where the DS/libero was a senior captain. She picked up 750 digs in her senior year, where she was a two-time All-Conference honoree.
Coach's Take: "Adlee was a late recruit for us, and we couldn't be more excited about her. She can pass and defend at an elite level. In our gym, she'll continue to develop and will continue our history of amazing defenders."
