- Davidson resumes conference play this weekend when PFL rival San Diego visits Richardson Stadium for a noon kickoff Saturday.
- Coming off an 84-6 win over St. Andrews, the Wildcats enter 2-2 overall and 1-0 in league action.
- In their win over the Knights, the 'Cats compiled 716 yards of total offense.
- Davidson has won 10 straight PFL games on Stephen B. Smith Field.
- In all, the Wildcats have won 14 of their last 15 at home.
- The 'Cats, who have won two of the last three conference titles, are 23-7 in PFL play dating back to the 2019 season.
- Davidson ranks among FCS leaders in total offense (469.2 ypg / 7th), rushing offense (276.2 ypg / 5th), team passing efficiency (193.82 / 1st), scoring offense (42.8 / 4th), 3rd down conversion pct. defense (0.208 / 3rd) and first down offense (92 / 12th).
- With the win over St. Andrews, Head Coach Scott Abell moved into a tie for third all-time on Davidson's career wins' list with 36 victories. He is just nine wins shy of becoming the program's all-time winningest coach.

- Despite winning two of the last three, Davidson trails the all-time series with San Diego, 14-4.
- The Toreros won last year's meeting, 31-14, in San Diego.
- In the Spring of 2021 (CoVID), the Wildcats ended San Diego's 39-game conference winning streak with a 31-25 victory on the road en route to their first of two straight PFL titles.
- Davidson suffered a 31-14 setback at San Diego Nov. 12, 2022 inside Torero Stadium.
- After trading scoring drives to open the game, San Diego grabbed control with 17 unanswered to close the half highlighted by a pair of Re-Al Mitchell touchdown runs, including a 75-yard run to break the 7-7 tie.
- Despite the setback, Mark McCurdy scored two more touchdowns for the Wildcats giving him a team-best 12 on the season. In addition, it marks the fourth straight contest and fifth time in 2022 the junior slot receiver has recorded a multiple-score game.
- Back under center for the first time since Davidson's win at Drake, Jayden Waddell completed 15-of-20 passes for 196 yards, a touchdown and one interception.
- Coy Williams was the Wildcats' leading rusher, gaining 72 yards on just nine carries.
- Davidson (435 total yards) out-gained San Diego (413), but scored on just two of its six trips into the red zone.
- Aaron Warren led the Wildcat defensive with six tackles on the day.

- Eleven Wildcats scored touchdowns as Davidson struck early and often in an 84-6 dismantling of St. Andrews Saturday night at Richardson Stadium.
- Aaron Maione was the lone Wildcat with multiple scores. He found the end zone on second-quarter runs of 26 and 29 yards, as Davidson scored the game's first 35 points and led 49-6 by the half.
- The Wildcats got started with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Coulter Cleland to Sam Hedrick at the 9:35 mark of the first quarter. Will Cox then scored on a 1-yard run on the next possession, and Cleland found Maxwell Weaver on a 29-yard scoring play early in the second quarter to make it 21-0.
- Davidson closed the half with scoring runs by Mason Sheron (10 yards) and Mari Adams (5 yards).
- A missed Wildcats field goal on the first possession of the second half actually set up another score. On the next play, defensive lineman Daniel Harrington scooped up a fumble and rumbled 17 yards to the end zone to make it 56-6.
- From there, the Wildcats wrapped up the scoring with touchdown runs by LJ Phillips Jr., Robert Lamar, Tahir Henry and Isaiah Sepand.
- The Davidson defense held St. Andrews (0-4) to 115 yards and three yards per play. Most of that came on one play, Darius Holly's 75-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

- Davidson enters its BYE week before heading to Indianapolis for an Oct. 14 contest with Butler the following week.
