
Wildcats Post Solid Showing at Emily McNail Classic

Over the weekend, the Wildcats had singles and doubles matches against Queens, Wofford and host UNC Asheville.
Highlighting the weekend was Bryson Langford who picked up a pair of singles wins as well as two victories in doubles competition with partners Savanna Kollock and Emma Heiderscheit. Along with Langford, freshmen Ines Roti, Charlotte Calderwood and Alex Rodehorst all earned their first collegiate wins as well.
"It was a good first tournament for us" said head coach Susanne Depka. "We worked hard to translate what we worked on in practice to matches. We know what to work on moving forward and will look to execute and improve going into the next tournament."
The Wildcats posted a strong showing throughout the first day of singles competition with six victories including:
Kollock def. Jill Morse (Queens) 6-4, 5-7, 10-6
Langford (Davidson) def. Lucy Hogan (Queens) 6-3, 6-3
Daniela Porges (Davidson) def. Laura Tapiador (Queens) 6-2, 6-2
Olivia Hooper (Davidson) def. Audrey Serb (Queens) 7-5, 6-2
Linden Patterson (Davidson) def. Kelsey Sinclaire (Queens) 6-1, 6-0
Roti (Davidson) def. Nyanyuie Grace Tomegah (Queens) 6-1, 6-1
Following the opening day's singles competition the 'Cats tallied a pair of doubles wins in:
Porges / Kavya Patel def. Breda Brennan / Grace Agster (Wofford) 6-3
Kollock / Langford def. Emely Kahrs / Catherine Blouin (Wofford) 6-1
Day two of competition saw four singles victories featuring:
Calderwood def. Kelsey Sinclaire (Queens) 6-3, 6-1
Hooper def. Catherine Blouin (Wofford) 7-6 (4-0), 6-3
Langford def. Valeria Centeno (UNC Asheville) 6-1, 6-1
Rodehorst def. Kendall Byers (UNC Asheville) 6-1, 6-4
The final bout of doubles matches include two wins from:
Kavya Patel / Kollock def. Morse / Hogan (Queens) 6-0
Heiderscheit / Langford def. Maras / Katsiaryna Tuliakova (Queens) 6-1
