‘Cats Wrap Up Fall Opener and Home Event T-3rd

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Behind three top-15 finishes, Davidson opened its 2023-24 men's golf season with a third-place showing at the River Run Collegiate.
Led by Alex Heffner's final round five-under 65, the Wildcats posted a 54-hole total of 844 (+4) to end up 10 back of team champion Radford and five behind overnight leader East Carolina.
Heffner (+1 | 211), the 2022 and 2023 A-10 Player of the Year, signed for the day's second-lowest total to climb 29 spots up the leaderboard and into a tie for 11th out of 80 competitors.
Teammates Joshua Stewart (67-68-71= 206 | -4) and Will Davis (69-70-69 = 208 | -2) led the 'Cats individually, placing tied for third and sixth, respectively.
ECU's Carter Busse (-10) captured individual medalist by three shots over Radford's Bryce Corbett (-7).
Up Next
Davidson will travel to Richmond, Va., for the VCU Shootout Sept. 18-19.
