'Cats Picked Third in Preseason Poll

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Davidson volleyball team was picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10 Conference's preseason poll on Tuesday afternoon, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Loyola Chicago, the reigning A-10 champion, was picked to win it all with seven first-place votes, while league juggernaut Dayton came in at second place with a pair of top votes. Following Davidson's third-place selection, George Washington and VCU rounded out the top five.
After producing one of their best seasons in program history during the 2022 campaign and clinching their third-ever postseason bid, the Wildcats received one first-place nod in addition to their highest A-10 preseason poll spot.
Davidson returns its star libero for her senior season, as Bella Brady captured the last two A-10 Libero of the Year honors. Reigning Rookie of the Year Emma Slusser also returns.
The 'Cats will open up the season on Friday, Aug. 25 at 12 p.m. against Le Moyne College at the College of Charleston Invitational.
