Three 'Cats Compete at Lee's Last Chance

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Three 'Cats competed at Lee University's Last Chance Meet on Saturday ahead of next week's NCAA East Preliminaries.
Chinedu Okeke competed in the 100-meters and continued to shave time off his previous marks. The Bronx native ran a new school-record time of 10.66 seconds in the finals after recording a 10.74 in the preliminaries. In his last four meets, Okeke has recorded times of 10.80 or better and has reset the school record three times.
Also competing was defending A-10 400-meter champ, Josh Hardin. Hardin finished fourth in the 400 after crossing the line in 47.43 seconds and currently sits 56th in the east region.
A-10 silver medalist, Jack Stajos competed in the discus and bested his mark from last weekend. The Charlotte product notched a throw 50.37 meters, the second-best in Davidson's history, to take second at the meet. His best throw of 51.11 meters ranks 84th in the region.
Davidson currently has three athletes within the top-48 of their respective events. Jayden Smith ranks fourth in the 110 hurdles, Bryce Anthony sits 22nd in the 400 hurdles, and Joe dosReis is 28th in the 1500-meters.
Four more 'Cats are on the cusp and await their postseason status ahead of next week. Jordan Benson sits in 49th in the 110 hurdles, Charlie Siebert ranks 52nd in the 10,000, Jack Curtin is 53rd in the triple jump, and Hardin is 56th in 400.
The individual event student-athletes that are accepted into First Round competition will be announced and posted on NCAA.com the week prior to First Round competition this coming Wednesday.
