DAVIDSON, N.C. – Brian Brown, the University of Richmond's all-time leading receiver, has joined Davidson's coaching staff, as announced by head coach Scott Abell Wednesday.
"Brian Brown is a winner who brings a great deal of enthusiasm and knowledge to our program," said Abell. "We are equally excited to bring such a quality person to Davidson Football."
Brown will serve as a defensive assistant/secondary coach for the Wildcats.
Most recently, Brown served as an Athletic Skills Trainer and assistant football coach at Hermitage High School, serving as passing game coordinator, and coaching the safeties and wide receivers.
Prior to returning to his hometown and former high school, Brown spent three-plus years on the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions' practice squads.
"I am excited to be here," said Brown. "Davidson is like a second home for me, and I am more than excited to work with the incredible scholar-athletes and staff. I look forward to becoming a part of this Davidson community!"
In addition to helping the Spiders to three consecutive FCS Playoff appearances, including a semifinal berth in 2015, Brown finished his standout career as the program's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.
For his efforts on the field, Brown was a two-time All-American and selected all-conference three times.
Brown, who majored in both sociology and history, received his bachelor's degree from Richmond in 2017.
