Savanna Kollock Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson freshman Savanna Kollock has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week following her undefeated weekend.
Kollock, a native of Scottsdale, Az., went a perfect 4-0 last week against Gardner-Webb and George Washington to earn her first-career A-10 honor. Kollock won in the No. 4 singles match over the Runnin' Bulldogs and came out victorious in the No. 5 singles match against the Colonials to earn her first conference victory. She then paired up with senior Josie Schaffer for a pair of doubles victories in the No. 3 pairing.
Kollock is now a team-leading 9-4 overall and 1-0 in A-10 play in both doubles and singles. She has won three consecutive matches in singles as well as six of her last seven. In doubles, her and Schaffer are a perfect 6-0 in the No. 3 spot and have gone 8-2 in their last ten matches.
The women's tennis team wraps up the regular season with a pair of home matches this Friday and Saturday. Davidson will face VCU on Friday at 3:00 p.m. then take on the Spiders of Richmond on Saturday at noon.
