Chanticleers Rally to Defeat Wildcats

Both teams moved to 5-4 on the season.
Zack Beach's RBI-single with two on and two outs in the ninth completed the rally for the Chanticleers.
The Wildcats built an early 4-0 lead, then moved ahead 6-1 in the seventh when Ryan Wilson hit a two-run home run to left-center, his team-best fourth shot of the year. But Coastal chipped away at the Wildcats' lead with three runs in the seventh, one in the eighth and another in the ninth before Beach's decisive hit.
Davidson scored three runs in the second off Henry Koehler and Jack Cotrone RBI-singles and Jacob Friend's RBI-double. Wilson scored on a Jacob Hinderleider sacrifice fly in the third.
Will Schomberg started and threw 5.1 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run and striking out seven. He held the Chanticleers hitless through 4.2 innings. Relievers Bennett Flynn and Brycen Champey worked out of jams in the sixth and eighth, respectively.
