
Wildcats Host NC A&T Tuesday at Wilson

The Davidson baseball team will continue its early-season home stand when it hosts North Carolina A&T Tuesday night at Wilson Field.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
The Wildcats are coming off a 1-2 season-opening weekend against NJIT and, in total, will play eight straight home games to start the season.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
Junior Ryan Wilson is off to a hot start at the plate.
The first baseman, known as an all-around offensive threat, leads the Wildcats with four hits, a .500 average, a 1.839 OPS, two doubles, five RBIs, five walks and two steals. He's also one of four Davidson players to homer in the opening weekend, joining Michael Carico, Jacob Hinderleider and Jack Cotrone.
Cotrone, Nick Calero and Tyler Douglas also had multiple hits in the opening series.
On the mound, Bennett Flynn and Nick Shedleski threw three scoreless innings apiece, while AJ Pabst and Ed Hall each tossed two scoreless frames.
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats lead the all-time series 25-3 and have won 16 of the previous 17 meetings.
The lone exception came last year in a 3-2, 13-inning loss in Greensboro on March 29. Despite the loss, the Wildcats used nine pitchers and held the Aggies to just two hits.
Davidson won the first meeting last year, 3-0 on March 2.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
NC A&T opened the season with a three-game sweep of Maryland-Eastern Shore, including a 5-4 win in 10 innings Sunday when catcher Canyon Brown drove in the winning run with an RBI-double.
Infielder Anthony Henning exited the weekend with a team-best .500 average and seven hits, while infielder Cort Maynard hit .462 with six hits. Tre Williams had the Aggies' lone weekend home run.
The Aggies' pitching staff has posted a 2.89 ERA to start the season.
