'Cats Add Medals, Break More Records on Day 3

GENEVA, Ohio — Davidson swimmers secured three medals and set three more school records Friday on the third day of the Atlantic 10 Championships at the SPIRE Institute.
Freshman Dylan Felt continued his breakthrough championship performance by earning silver in the 200 free and putting his name on a third school record (and second of the meet), this time with a time of 1:35.95.
The men's 400 medley relay of Jeremy Kemp, Andrew Schou, Miles Charles and Ben McClain took bronze with a school-record time of 3:14.66 in the day's final event. And Schou broke the program's 100 breast record with a time of 54.42, while placing fifth.
Kemp also turned in a sixth-place finish in the 100 back (48.62), leading four Wildcats in the finals, and McClain was sixth in the 200 free (1:37.69).
Shelby Stanley led the Davidson women with a silver-medal swim in the 100 fly, posting a time of 53.86 and earning her second medal of the meet.
Stanley also joined Leah Sandock, Anna Newman and Abby Francis on the 400 medley relay team, which finished sixth in 3:43.82.
Diver Annica Valmassei placed seventh in the 3-meter event (246.35).
Through three days and 27 of 40 events, the Wildcats rank fifth of eight men's teams (285.5 points) and sixth among 11 women's teams (196 points).

The fourth and final day of competition is Saturday, with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Events include the 1,650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay and men's 3-meter diving.
