
Deegan Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Suzi-Rose Deegan captured the Atlantic 10's Player of the Week honor Monday after helping lead Davidson to another 2-0 week.
The Wildcats' trusted guard averaged 22.0 points and 6.5 rebounds to go along with five assists and three steals over a two-start stretch for the 'Cats. Deegan posted back-to-back 22-point showings highlighted by a 10-of-12 effort from the floor against Dayton. Additionally, Deegan had an explosive 25 minutes versus High Point where she scored all her points in the first half including 18 points in the second quarter alone.
Overall, Deegan shot .760 from the floor, including an .800 clip from beyond the 3-point arc.
With Monday's honor, Deegan has now earned A-10 Player of the Week accolades twice in her career after being named A-10 Rookie of the Week six times in her first year as a Wildcat.
Deegan is also a two-time A-10 Preseason All-Conference team honoree and was the 2019-20 A-10 Rookie of the Year.
Deegan and the 'Cats, who are one a seven-game winning streak, return to the court Dec. 18 when they host UNC Wilmington for a non-conference contest 7 p.m. in John M. Belk Arena.
