
‘Cats Cruise Past Wofford 81-51 on Education Day

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Millie Prior stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three blocks to lead Davidson to a convincing 81-51 victory over Wofford on Education Day inside John M. Belk Arena Tuesday.
Off to their best start in program history, the Wildcats improved to 5-1 on the season.
Along with Prior's first career double-double, Davidson also got double figures from Suzi-Rose Deegan, who finished with a team-high 17 points to go with eight boards, while Mallorie Haines added 12 on 4-of-7 shooting from long range.
Davidson, which assisted on seven of its first eight field goals, stormed out of the gates to a 9-0 lead before closing the opening quarter up 25-9.
After Wofford got to within 13 early in the third, the Wildcats went on a 16-4 streak to put the game out of reach.
Davidson, which canned a season-high 11 3-pointers and finished the contest shooting 47 percent, stretched its advantage to as many as 32 on separate occasions.
In addition to their performance on the offensive end, the Wildcats held the Terriers to just 31.3 percent and 5-of-20 from deep.
Rachael Rose paced three Wofford (3-3) players in double digits with 19 points.
The 'Cats finished with a commanding 53-29 margin on the glass and got 27 points from their bench.
