
Kochera and Wildcats Run Past Terriers, 69-45

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Connor Kochera scored a game-high 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead Davidson past Boston University, 69-45, in non-conference men's basketball action Tuesday inside John M. Belk Arena.
Playing at home for the first time since opening night, the Wildcats improve to 3-2 overall.
Senior guard Grant Huffman also stuffed the stat sheet for Davidson with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals, while Reed Bailey just missed a double-double with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Fellow starters Angelo Brizzi and David Skogman added 9 points each for the Wildcats, who finished with 44 points in the paint.
Davidson grabbed control and the lead for good with a 16-3 run early in the opening 20 minutes and pushed the margin to 18 in the half before going to intermission up, 36-21.
The Wildcats also held a 41-29 advantage on the glass, while holding the Terriers to just 33.9 percent from the floor.
In addition to making 8-of-11 from the floor to begin the second half, the 'Cats started the period with a 13-2 streak highlighted by a pair of Brizzi triples. The lead would eventually grow to as many as 27 on separate occasions in the closing minutes.
Matai Baptiste was the lone Boston U. (1-4) player in double figures with 10 points.
