The Davidson field hockey team will conclude its four-game homestand and a stretch of six of seven at Belk Turf Field when it hosts non-conference foe Ball State Friday night.

Game time is set for 7 p.m.

The Wildcats are 4-8 overall after most recently falling 2-0 to Wake Forest last Sunday. After facing Ball State, Davidson will visit Atlantic 10 foe Lock Haven on Sunday.

LATEST ON THE 'CATS
Abby Pompeo continues to lead the Wildcats and rank among the A-10 leaders (tied-2nd) with seven goals.

Sib Naaktgeboren has scored four goals and assisted on four more. She ranks third in the league with 1.73 shots-on-goal.

Matilda Collins and Macy Curtis have three goals and three assists apiece, and Curtis ranks fourth in the A-10 with 1.50 shots-on-goal.

ONE LOVE GAME
Davidson is dedicating Friday's game to the One Love Foundation and spreading awareness about relationship violence.

One Love is a national nonprofit organization founded in memory of Yeardley Love, who played lacrosse at the University of Virginia.

SCOUTING BALL STATE
The Ball State Cardinals enter 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAC, and they feature the MAC's top scorer in Fleur Knopert. She's tied for 10th nationally with 11 goals and had three-goal games against Central Michigan and Lindenwood.

Goalkeeper Hannah Johnston leads the MAC with a .774 saves percentage and 7.20 saves per game.

The Cardinals had won five straight until falling 4-2 to Kent State last weekend.

Last year, the Wildcats topped Ball State 4-1.

The Cardinals are coached by former Wildcat assistant coach Caitlin Walsh, who is in her second year.

SCOUTING LOCK HAVEN
Lock Haven, which is idle prior to Sunday, is 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the A-10, with a win over Richmond.

The Bald Eagles feature two of the top scorers in the A-10 in Constanza Lopez Zabala (6 goals, 1 assist) and Brooke Hofsass (5 goals, 3 assists), who have 13 points apiece. Kelsey Felix is one of the top keepers in the league with a .709 saves percentage.

Lock Haven is coming off a 2-0 loss to Rider last weekend.

Davidson and Lock Haven have split the last two meetings. Lock Haven won 3-1 last year in Davidson, while the Wildcats won 2-1 on the road in 2021.
