
Wildcats Sweep Victories at VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. — Davidson swimmers and divers combined for 24 of 26 event wins and swept the team victories as well in a non-conference meet at VMI Saturday afternoon.
The Davidson women won all 13 events in their meet and posted a 194-42 victory, while the Davidson men won 143-79.
Anna Newman and Dylan Felt led the way with two individual wins apiece. Newman won the women's 200 IM (2:08.47) and the 200 breast (2:21.93), while Felt won the men's 200 IM (1:56.91) and 200 fly (1:52.08).
The Wildcat women won both relays as Nora Ratmeyer, Kelsa Dator, Martha Tripsa and Katie Homme started the meet with a win in the 400 medley (4:03.59) and Addy Donaldson, Ann Thompson, Rani Greer and Chale Jacks closed it with a 200 free victory (1:43.35).
Other wins came from Tripsa (50 free, 24.59), Ratmeyer (100 free, 54.26), Thompson (200 back, 2:05.16), Greer (500 free, 5:14.59), Lea Nader (1,000 free, 10:57.84), Sylvia Stewart-Bates (200 free, 1:57.31) and Jessie Cline (200 fly, 2:12.48).
Wildcats Annica Valmassei (1M, 250.35) and Elle Jacobsen (3M, 232.95) posted the top diving scores.
For the men, Owen Curry, Andrew Schou, Miles Charles and AJ Teixeira started off the Wildcats with a 400 medley relay (3:27.58) win.
The Wildcats stacked up the freestyle wins as well, with Guil Ware (50 free, 21.29), Ben McClain (100 free, 46.55), Jeremy Kemp (200 free, 1:42.97) and Fletcher Smith (500 free, 4:47.85) touching first.
Schou posted a win in the 200 breast (2:07.50), and Zach Jones earned a win in the 200 back (1:57.08).
In diving, James Gourlay (1M, 243.00) and Ben Cutforth (3M, 262.25) got the wins.
