Davis Inside Top-10 After Day One of Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Highlighted by an opening round six-under 65, Will Davis sits in a tie for ninth to pace Davidson after 36 holes of the 2023 Furman Intercollegiate.
Davis (65-74 = 139), coming off his first career win in the Wildcats' last outing, is currently 3-under, five strokes off the individual lead held by Paul Conroy (Chattanooga) and Erik Johansson (Campbell).
Prior to his second-round 74, Davis had fired 10 straight rounds of par or better to begin the fall campaign, which included four straight scores in the 60s.
Entering with three straight Top-5 showings, Davidson is tied for 10th after two rounds, just 11 strokes out of fifth place.
Joshua Stewart (145 | T-41), Alex Heffner (147 | T-52), Davis Sayman (148 | T-59) and Benjamin Newfield (157 | T-86) are also in the Wildcat lineup. Price Miller (148 | T-59) is competing as an individual.
The host Paladins (-22) lead the 15-team field by three shots over No. 21 Chattanooga (-19), while No. 26 Texas A&M (-11) is 11 back.
