NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- For the second time this season, and the eighth time in her career, junior libero Bella Brady has captured an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor, as she led Davidson to a 2-0 start to league play.
The Winter Park, Fla. native was named the conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Week, sharing the title with Dayton's Amelia Moore.
With a two-game sweep over Duquesne last weekend, Brady totaled 46 digs, with 22 in game one and 24 in game two. The captain is now just eight digs shy of reaching the 1,000th dig milestone, as she averaged 6.57 digs per set during the seven-set weekend. She also passed .952 on serve receive and served two aces.
Brady's honor is the fourth nod from the Atlantic 10 for the Wildcats, as Anela Davis captured last week's Defensive Player of the Week honor and Emma Slusser was named Rookie of the Week after the second week of the season.
