Off to a 2-0-1 start, the Davidson women's soccer team will play its second straight home game Sunday when the Furman Paladins visit Alumni Stadium for a 2 p.m. start.
The Wildcats, who opened the season with two road contests, are in a stretch of playing six of seven games at home.
Sunday is also Senior Day, and the Wildcats will recognize 12 members of the 2023 class prior to the start: Cecie Bassett, Hailey Braemer, Mary Grace Bunch, McRae Calhoun, Sophia Caruso, Hannah Casey, Keeley Copper, Abigail Jeanneault, Lindy Morgan, Rachel Schleicher, Grace Voss and Remi White.
"Senior Day is always a special day time at Davidson as we celebrate the seniors for everything they've done for the program," said coach Adam Denton.
Before kickoff, Denton's son, Aiden, will sing the national anthem.
LAST TIME OUT
Brooke Ditcham scored two goals in a five-minute span of the first half to lead the Wildcats to a 2-0 home win over Gardner-Webb in Thursday's home opener.
Ditcham entered in the 27th minute and scored 11 seconds later. Five minutes after that, Caruso set up Ditcham for a second goal, and the Wildcats were on their way.
Davidson had advantages in shots-on-goal (12-2) and corner kicks (11-0) and limited GWU chances all night.
SCOUTING FURMAN
The Paladins enter with a 2-1 record after wins over Presbyterian and North Greenville and, most recently, a 4-1 loss at Tennessee Tech Thursday.
Stella Garcia leads the Paladins with two goals, after scoring one in each of the first two games.
Sunday will mark the first meeting since 2016 between the former Southern Conference rivals.
