KISSIMMEE, Fla. – In addition to freshman Will Davis climbing into a share of the individual lead, Davidson overcame a slow start to move into second place after day two of the 2022 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship.
The three-day/54-hole event is being played on the 7,186-yard, Par 72 Reunion Golf Club Nicklaus layout in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Wildcats (-4), who have won two of the last three league titles, carded another two-under 286 and will enter tomorrow's final round four back of VCU, which leads the 11-team field at 8-under 568.
After sitting at two-over through four holes, Davis birdied four straight holes to close his front nine before joining the leaders with a three-under 69. Davis will enter tomorrow's last 18 holes tied with J.P. Miller (George Mason), Adrian Vagberg (VCU), Austin Fox (Rhode Island) and Peter O'Rourke (Fordham).
Senior Viraj Garewal (E) bounced back with a one-under 71 to move into a tie for 10th with fellow Wildcat Alex Heffner (E). Davidson's entire starting lineup is in the Top-25 as Clayton Tribus (+1) is 19th, while Ethan Hall is at plus two in a tie for 24th.
On Sunday, Davidson will be paired with VCU and George Washington in the final round with tee times beginning at 8:15 a.m. off the first tee.
Live scoring will be available each day on GolfStat.com.
In six Atlantic 10 Championship appearances, the Wildcats have captured two titles (2018, 2021), a runner-up and third place showing, while recording an average finish of 3.6.
