Gaither Sets New School Record at Shamrock Invitational

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Cory Gaither led the 'Cats this weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. as he set the new school record in the 100m hurdles with his time of 14.29.
"We had a great week in Myrtle Beach," Director of Men's Track and Field Renny Waldron said. "It was a very solid opener and we are looking forward to building on our momentum."
In the 100m hurdles, Bryce Anthony finished behind his teammate in fourth, just a hundredth of a second behind Gaither at 14.18. Jordan Benson finished in fifth with a time of 14.33.
Anthony also finished fourth in the 400m dash, registering a time of 49.31. Gaither recorded a sixth place finish in the 200m dash, stopping the clock at 21.94. Raphael Oettl ran a 1:55.92 in the 800m run, putting him in fourth place.
In the field events, Jack Stajos' mark of 44.73m in the discus put him in sixth place. Nick Masterman notched an eighth place finish in the javelin throw with a 52.14 mark.
