'Cats Finish T-2nd; Garewal Climbs Leaderboard to Place T-3rd

PINEHURST, N.C. — In addition to Davidson posting the day's second lowest score to finish tied for second, Viraj Garewal fired a four-under 68 Sunday, placing tied for third at the Forest Creek Collegiate.
The 36-hole / 11-team event was played on the Par 72, 6925-yard Forest Creek Golf Club layout.
As a team, the Wildcats fired a final-round 288 to climb three spots up the leaderboard.
Brian Garrett (147 | T-10), who paced the 'Cats in Saturday's opening round, signed for a 74 this afternoon to join his teammate in the Top-10.
Junior Ethan Hall (79-71) bounced back with a season-low one-under 71 to tie for 28th with sophomore Alex Heffner (150).
Freshman Will Davis (152 | T-35) was also in the Wildcats' starting lineup, while Dean Naime (82-73 = 155) competed as an individual.
UNCW, which captured the team title at 575 (-1), also took home the first-two spots on the individual leaderboard with Walker Isley (-4) claiming medalist and Drew Hackett (-3) runner-up.
