DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Despite capturing the doubles point in the early goings of a Sunday non-conference match up, the Davidson Wildcats fell 5-2 to Presbyterian College from inside the Knobloch Tennis Center.
"We knew this was going to be a really tough match," Head Coach Drew Barrett said. "I'm proud of how hard our guys fought, it could've gone either way. These kind of matches will help us greatly when we need it the most at the end of the season."
William Clark and Juan Camilo Perez Gongora picked up a 6-2 decision on court three to start off doubles play strong, while Maxwell Kachkarov and Nico Pinzon clinched the first point of the day at No. 2, with a 6-4 victory.
Brooks Green would score the Wildcats' last point of the day, as the senior recorded a 6-1, 6-4 singles win on court six, improving to 3-2 in singles play this season.
Kachkarov, Solares, Perez Gongora and Udday Singh all battled through three-set matches on courts one through four, but the Blue Hose ultimately came out on top to secure the 5-2 come-from-behind win.
Davidson will be back in action on Friday, February 25 for a 3 p.m. match up against NC Central at home.
