Women's Tennis Falls to UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Davidson women's tennis fell to UNC Asheville Friday afternoon by a score of 5-2. The 'Cats fall to 1-2 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 5-0.
"Today was a tough one," head coach Susanne Depka said. "I commend Asheville as they competed well and had no fear. They played well and were very aggressive. There were some lessons to take from this match which I hope they can bring to tomorrow's match at Appalachian State."
The two Wildcat wins came from Kavya Patel in the No. 4 spot and Mira Gladstone in the No. 6 spot. Both scholar-athletes defeated their opponents in two sets, by the exact same score of 6-3, 6-4.
Emma Heiderscheit took the first set 7-5 from her opponent at the No. 3 spot but fell in the two ensuing matches, 6-4, 6-4.
UP NEXT
Despite the loss, Davidson will look forward to tomorrow's match at Appalachian State at 1 pm.
