DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Rookies Jackie Bardin and Emma Slusser combined for 19 kills in a 3-0 sweep over George Mason on Friday night, giving Davidson its 19th victory of the season and the program's most wins in a single season since 2002.
The Wildcats out-hit the Patriots .259 to .126 to sweep the A-10 foe in three and cruise to their 13th conference victory this year.
While Bardin had the match-high 10 kills, Slusser was right behind with nine strikes and a .375 attacking percentage. Sola Omonije also added six kills, Anela Davis recorded four solo blocks and four assists and Bella Brady picked up 15 digs.
Slusser and Bardin recorded three kills apiece in set one to push the 'Cats ahead 6-3 early, before Anela Davis took the 'Cats on a lengthy service run that solidified a 25-17 first set victory.
With a 1-0 lead, Davidson's presence at the net grew in set two as Bardin and Kayla Davis started off the frame with a monstrous block. From there, Kayla Davis provided two more block assists before the 'Cats went on a 5-0 run to create distance and win it 25-20.
In the final set, the Wildcats trailed 13-2 before a timeout was called. Out of the break, and with Brady at the service line, the 'Cats rattled off seven straight points to pull ahead 18-13. Finally, with match point in sight, Anela Davis made one more solo stop to win the match for the Wildcats.
