Walter and Heffner Lead ‘Cats at Old Town Collegiate

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Cole Walter and Alex Heffner sit at one-under 139 to lead Davidson after 36 holes of the 2021 Old Town Collegiate hosted by Wake Forest.
The 54-hole event is being played on the Par 70, 6,966-yard Old Town Club layout.
As a team, the Wildcats opened with a season-low two-under 278 before carding a 283 on their afternoon round. They will enter the final day just seven swings back of eighth place.
Coming off a personal-best in Davidson's home event last week, Walter (69-70) continued his solid play recording three birdies, three bogeys and 30 pars.
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin at 7:35 a.m.
In addition to the Demon Deacons, the 15-team field features College of Charleston, Davidson, Duke, East Carolina, Kansas State, Kentucky, Loyola (Md.), Penn State, Rutgers, SMU, Southern Mississippi, UNCG and Virginia Tech.
Viraj Garewal (143 | T-55), who opened with a two-under 68, Ethan Hall (72-72 = 144 | +4) and Will Davis (74-71 = 145 | +5) are also in the Davidson lineup this week.
Nationally-ranked Wake Forest (-28) holds the top-spot on the team leaderboard by eight shots over Duke, while three players are tied for the individual lead at 9-under.
