Women's Soccer Drops Home Match to Hawks

DAVIDSON — Having played four straight games on the road, the Davidson women's soccer team did not get the homecoming it wanted Thursday night, falling 2-0 to Atlantic 10 foe Saint Joseph's at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats are now 4-5-1 overall and 0-2-0 in A-10 play.
Davidson's best threats came on two scoring chances, including one with less than four minutes to play in the first half when Phoebe Fowler's shot off a Sophia Caruso free kick was saved by Hawks keeper Katie Cappelletti.
With 10 minutes to play in regulation, Emma Peddrick's header was also stopped.
Natalie Nevins got the Hawks on the board in the 52nd minute when she headed in a cross.
Aleksa Peev made it 2-0 less than six minutes later when she cleaned up a rebound in front of the goal.
St. Joe's finished with a 10-2 shots advantage and a 7-4 lead in corners.

The Wildcats return to the road for their next two, including at Dayton Sunday at 12 p.m.
