
Rodriguez, Brady Earn A-10 Weekly Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Fresh off a weekend's worth of wins, the Davidson volleyball team has received multiple Atlantic 10 Conference honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Senior outside hitter Hattie Rodriguez has been named A-10 Player of the Week, while sophomore libero Bella Brady is Defensive Player of the Week.
Rodriguez, of Charlotte, hit .276 on the opening weekend, totaling 38 kills and 19 digs in a Wildcat Classic Tournament MVP performance. On Friday night, Rodriguez recorded a double-double (20 kills, 10 digs) for just the third time in her career and added one block and one ace to the scoresheet from the weekend. The A-10 honor is the second of her career.
Brady, from Winter Park, Fla., led the Wildcats' defense all weekend with a team-high 15 digs in the season opener against UNC Asheville Friday night. During Saturday's four-set win over Western Carolina, she totaled a career-best 34 digs. She was named to the Wildcat Classic All-Tournament Team after also dishing 14 assists and three aces in the weekend. The A-10 honor is also the second of Brady's career, after earning Rookie of the Week honors last season.
Rodriguez, Brady and the Wildcats will return to the court this weekend in the North Florida Invitational.
