Kachkarov Earns A-10 First Team Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- After helping lead Davidson to its third straight semifinal appearance in the Atlantic 10's Championship tournament, freshman Maxwell Kachkarov was named to the A-10's First Team All-Conference list, the league announced Tuesday.

In his debut season, Kachkarov was named the league's Rookie of the Week back on February 23, and is just one of two freshmen to earn First Team All-Conference honors this season.

A native of Queens, N.Y., Kachkarov went a team-best 8-9 during singles matches in his rookie year, while competing in Davidson's No. 1 slot for 11 of his 17 matches. Along with his primary doubles partner Alejandro Solares, Kachkarov finished 6-8 as the team's No. 1 doubles unit, and 8-9 overall, while competing in 17 of the Wildcats' 19 total matches.
