McLaren Sets Mark as 'Cats Claim Two Bronzes

GENEVA, OHIO — Two podium finishes and a school record highlighted the Davidson men's swimming and diving team's third day at the Atlantic 10 Championships Friday.
Cael McLaren took bronze in the 100 breaststroke and set a Davidson mark with a time of 54.85, while Kevin Andrews swam to bronze in the 100 back with a time of 48.58.
"Really proud of the fight in these Wildcats," said coach John Young. "It's been a steady flow of impressive performances, podium finishes and team records. Looking forward to a big day tomorrow!"
The 400 medley relay team of Andrews, McLaren, Tabor and Ian Brann placed fourth in 3:18.17, and Brann placed fifth in the 200 free (1:39.38).
Mitchell Stanek and Tabor had sixth-place finishes, Stanek in the 400 individual medley (3:59.67) and Tabor in the 100 butterfly (48.85), and Thomas Broderick took seventh in the 100 back (49.64).
Other top-10 finishes came from Ben Cutforth (8th, 3-meter diving), Tabor (9th, 100 breast) and Owen Corkery (10th, 100 back).

The fourth and final day of action begins with 12:15 p.m. prelims, with finals set for 7:30 p.m. Events include: 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1,650 free and the 400 free relay.
