3/19/2021 12:49:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The Davidson women's soccer team will play its fifth straight home game Sunday when George Washington visits for a 1 p.m. contest.
The Wildcats are 4-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference following a 2-0 win over Richmond on March 11. Davidson was to play at VCU on March 18, but that game was moved to Tuesday, March 23.
"We're excited for the next challenge ahead, at home against George Washington," said coach Adam Denton. "They're an extremely athletic and dynamic team that has been at the top of the A-10 the last couple years. It'll be another challenge for us, but we're excited about what's ahead."
The Wildcats have won their last three matches, including two in the A-10. Kendall Bushick scored twice and Hannah Casey added a goal in a 3-1 win over George Mason March 7, and Sophia Caruso and Alexandra Menard scored in the victory over Richmond.
George Washington is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the league, after two double-overtime A-10 games. The Colonials beat Richmond 1-0 March 7 and lost to George Mason 2-1 March 14.
Hailey Braemer leads Davidson with eight points and four assists, and Kendall Bushick has a team-high three goals. Goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch has a .700 saves percentage and an 0.55 goals against average.
Following Sunday's contest with the Colonials, the Wildcats will play the next three and four of their next five on the road.
