‘Cats Conclude Day One at Historic Pinehurst No. 2

PINEHURST, N.C. – Following a two-week break from competition, Davidson returned to the course Monday for the opening round of the Wake Forest Invitational at historic Pinehurst No. 2.
Pinehurst No. 2, the centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort, has hosted more single golf championships than any golf course in America.
The 12-team field features five Top-50 programs, including the tournament host Wake Forest, which is currently No. 2 nationally.
After the Wildcats' struggled in their morning round on one of the most difficult tests in golf, they bounced back with a 293 in the afternoon led by Brian Garrett's even-par 70.

Wake's Michael Brennan, who is ranked fourth in the latest GolfStat rankings, holds the top spot on the individual leaderboard at 3-under 137 (71-66).

Davidson will enjoy a lengthy break before returning to the course March 27-29 at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate hosted by North Carolina.
